This course provides 3.0 hours of continuing education for the licensed real estate appraiser, and is intended to improve the skills and enhance the knowledge for each licensed and certified real property appraiser. This course will:

  • Identify frequent sources of complaints filed with state appraiser regulatory agencies.
  • Explain the appraiser regulatory complaint process.
  • Recognize responsibility to answer complaint allegations received from the regulatory agency.
  • Use the class information to minimize the issues that result in appraiser regulatory sanctions.
  • Identify and use information for enhancing professional appraisal practice.
  • Recognize professional language to consider using when speaking with clients and the public.
  • Recognize the most frequent actions that can lead to professional appraiser violations and sanctions.

Larry Disney is the former Executive Director of the Kentucky Real Estate Appraiser Board (KREAB).  As Executive Director, he guided the organization through the massive changes that accompanied the mortgage meltdown and government reassessment of Dodd/Frank.  Prior to being named Executive Director, he was employed as their chief investigator of real estate appraiser complaints.  Larry is a past president of the Association of Appraiser Regulatory Officials (AARO), having served two terms, and served on the Board of Directors for AARO.  He has been a practicing real property appraiser since 1977, and since 1982 he has developed and instructed qualifying education courses for real estate licensees, real property appraisers, and state regulatory agencies.
